Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) leader Massoud Barzani said the Kurdish “blood” is more valuable than money and weapons, in response to US President Donald Trump.
“Dear President Trump, the people of Kurdistan have always followed their just rights,” Barzani wrote on Twitter.
“The Peshmerga have defeated ISIS and are an effective part of the coalition against terrorism,” he said, adding that “Kurdish blood is more valuable than money and weapons.”
US President Donald Trump has said that his country has not abandoned the Kurds despite the withdrawal from northeastern Syria, threatening that any unjustified military operation against them by Turkey would destroy its economy.
“We can start the process of withdrawal from Syria, but we have not abandoned the Kurds in any way,” Trump said in two tweets published on Tuesday.
“Similarly, our relations with Turkey, our NATO and trade partner, have been very good,” Trump said.
